Build-A-Bowl (“we”, “us”) takes pre-orders for bowls in India. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what we need to take your order, and we never sell your data.
What we collect
- Mobile number: required to create your account and sign in.
- Name and email: optional, if you choose to give them.
- Passcode: stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. Nobody at Build-A-Bowl can see your passcode.
- Your orders: the bowls and ingredients you choose, date and slot, any note you add, and the order status.
- Address: only if you give it to us for a delivery.
- Sign-in details: when you sign in we record your IP address and browser/device type with your session, to keep your account secure.
How we use it
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To take, prepare and manage your pre-orders.
- To contact you about your orders, for example to confirm one or to share the pickup time, location and amount due.
- To prevent misuse of the website.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone. We do not show ads, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers on our website.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to host our website and store our data. They process your data only on our behalf, only as much as needed to provide their service, and are required to keep it secure and confidential. Your account and order data is stored on servers in India.
We may also share data if the law requires it, for example in response to a valid request from a government authority.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. For your security you are signed out automatically after 10 minutes of inactivity.
How we protect it
The website is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection, passcodes are stored hashed, and only our team can open the admin panel. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
How long we keep it
We keep your account details while your account is active. Order records may be kept for our accounts and as required by law. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your personal details except what we must keep by law.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you,
- correct or update it,
- delete your account and personal data,
- withdraw your consent to us using your data.
Email us at admin@buildabowl.in from the email linked to your account, or include your registered mobile number. You can raise any complaint about how we handle your data at the same address.
Children
If you are under 18, please use Build-A-Bowl only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. For important changes we will let you know on the website.
